The usage of this product is determined based on the customer’s formulation design. The recommended addition level is 0.2% to 1.0% of the total formulation weight. Customers can also combine this product with other types of thickeners according to different requirements for production, storage, application, and film formation, in order to meet the rheological performance specifications of the formulation design—for example, JA004, which provides high shear viscosity; JA104, which offers medium shear viscosity; and H306, which provides thixotropic properties—thus achieving an ideal balance of viscosity under various shear rates.
It is recommended that the amount of ground resin in the formulation be 20% to 30%, and the dispersant should be 2% to 5% (by formulation weight). For the specific optimal dosage, please conduct a stepwise test.
5040 has a relatively wide dosage range; the specific dosage should be determined based on experimental results. The recommended dosage is 0.1–1.0%.
