5040 water-based dispersant
● Overview
High-efficiency dispersant 5040 is a sodium polyacrylate-based dispersant with excellent dispersing performance and the highest pigment-carrying capacity. It exhibits outstanding dispersing properties for titanium dioxide, calcium carbonate, and china clay. Coatings formulated using this dispersant demonstrate superior performance and exhibit strong dispersing power even toward highly hydrophobic substances such as organic pigments. Application tests have shown that 5040 requires low dosages, boasts high efficiency, features low viscosity, exhibits low grinding viscosity, offers a wide dosage range, and demonstrates excellent storage stability in dispersion systems.

It exhibits excellent water solubility and good compatibility with ethylene glycol and propylene glycol. When used in both glossy and semi-gloss latex paints, it imparts outstanding initial gloss and maintains this gloss even after aging. For pigments with high hydrophobicity, it significantly improves their tinting properties and reduces the amount of wetting agent required. The molecular structure featuring special functional groups endows it with exceptional water resistance, enabling efficient performance at low dosages and enhancing the water resistance of the paint film. Under the same conditions, it demonstrates long-lasting dispersion capability, keeps the viscosity of the coating system remarkably stable, and maintains constant viscosity throughout the storage period. Additionally, it exhibits low foaming characteristics, ensuring that the coating remains in a low-foam state during both manufacturing and application.
● Application
Interior and exterior wall latex paints and other PVC systems, particularly suitable for the preparation of color pastes.
● Usage and Dosage:
5040 has a relatively wide dosage range; the specific dosage should be determined based on experimental results. The recommended dosage is 0.1–1.0%.
● Packaging and Storage & Transportation
20 kg iron drums or 30 kg and 250 kg plastic drums—frost-proof and UV-resistant. Shelf life: one year.
