T-025 Anionic Alkali-Swelling Thickener
I. Overview
T-025 is a crosslinked emulsion thickener composed of copolymers of polyacrylate and methyl methacrylate.
II. Technical Data
■Appearance: Milky white liquid
■ pH: 3–5
■ Solid content: 30 ± 1%
■ Viscosity: S > 30
■Ionicity: Anion
III. Advantages
■ It has a high molecular weight and exhibits very low viscosity in acidic media, but can achieve very high viscosity under alkaline conditions. After thickening, it improves the flow and leveling properties of coatings and helps prevent sagging.
■ Latex paint exhibits excellent mechanical stability, storage stability, and freeze-thaw stability, as well as superior mold resistance, water resistance, and scrub resistance.
■ It is a viscous liquid that is easy to use and serves as an ideal thickener for various water-based coatings, such as latex paints.
IV. Usage and Dosage
Adjust the pH of the coating with ammonia solution to bring it to 8-9.
T-025 should be diluted with water before use; a ratio of 1:3–4 (water) is recommended.
The typical dosage of T-025 is approximately (0.5–2.5)% of the latex paint volume, adjusted to achieve the desired viscosity of the finished latex product.
Under low-speed stirring, slowly add the diluted T-0. 25. While stirring, measure the material’s viscosity. Stop when the required viscosity is reached.
Stop adding T-0 25.
V. Packaging and Storage & Transportation
25 kg, 50 kg, or 200 kg plastic drums. The product should be stored in a cool, dry warehouse. The shelf life is one year. This product is classified as non-hazardous.
